The firm has an exceptional Private Client reputation and advises high value Clients. The position involves assisting the Partners in a wide range of work. You will focus on advising on a mixed case load. Company & Commercial Solicitor – 3 years + PQE.  Company and commercial solicitor is sought to develop a new department under the Head of Department. The Firm has seen an upturn in instructions since the beginning of the year and the successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running.   

The ideal candidate will have gained a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience. Ideally you will have undertaken both corporate transactional and commercial contracts work, and be experienced in all aspects of corporate law, especially for SMEs, and be able to work alone and as part of a team. 

Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate strong technical skills combined with the ability to build relationships with clients and an understanding of the importance of marketing. Prior experience in business development would be an advantage.  The Firm are looking for somebody who is able to balance professionalism with being personable and enjoyable to have as a new member.

Legal Secretary (Minimum 2 Years Experience). The successful candidate will ideally be an experienced legal secretary with extensive knowledge of commercial litigation work. Some knowledge of commercial property would also be an advantage.

The role is to work as a secretary to the head of commercial litigation and also an assistant solicitor in the litigation team. Tasks would include: typing, filing, diary management, creation of template documents and answering telephone calls.  Excellent organisation, problem solving and prioritisation skills are essential for this role. A flexible approach and a willing can do attitude are also essential qualities. 

Applicants must have a minimum of 65 wpm, good numeracy and literacy skills and knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in the efficient use of case management systems is an advantage.

Work Experience Placements

We offer quality unpaid work experience placements in blocks of 1 to 3 months in length. Candidates with the right commitment and development may be considered for future permanent positions within the Firm.

We are also able to offer unpaid Sandwich Placements for those students on Law Degrees who require this as part of their course.  We currently work with Brunel University and Bournemouth University, but would be happy to consider applications from students from other universities.  If you are a Placement Officer at an educational establishment needing to place your students with a law firm, please contact our Office Manager to formalise an arrangement.

We are also able to offer unpaid placements for those candidates who are undertaking their Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test and have a Certificate of Eligibility and are required to have UK work experience under the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Regulations.

Trainee Solicitors and Training Contracts

We offer Training Contracts on a rolling basis. Priority is given to candidates who have completed work experience placements at the Firm, but we also welcome applications from other candidates who have appropriate knowledge and experience.
